Medium-Density Fibreboard (MDF) is a versatile, smooth-surfaced engineered timber board widely used for CNC routing, laser cutting, signage, joinery, furniture, and painted finishes. P&M Plastics machines MDF on our CNC router and CO2 laser, delivering precision-cut profiles, 3D relief carvings, intricate fretwork, and engraved surfaces.
MDF's uniform density and smooth faces make it ideal for components that will be painted, wrapped, or used as moulds and templates.
We stock standard MDF, moisture-resistant MDF (MR MDF), and lightweight MDF in thicknesses from 3mm to 32mm.

How We Fabricate MDF

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between standard and MR MDF? +
Moisture-resistant (MR) MDF has a wax additive that provides better resistance to humidity and moisture, suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoor-protected signage. Standard MDF is for interior use only.
Can MDF be laser cut? +
Yes, our CO2 laser cuts MDF up to about 6mm with clean edges. Thicker MDF is best CNC routed.
Is MDF suitable for outdoor signage? +
MR MDF can be used outdoors if properly sealed and painted. For fully exposed applications, we'd recommend ACM or plastic alternatives.
