Outdoor life
Corflute is the trade name for fluted polypropylene sheet, also known as corrugated polypropylene or twin-wall PP. The sheet is built like cardboard, with two thin walls separated by parallel flutes, which makes it lightweight, water resistant, easy to score and fold, and far cheaper than rigid sheet plastics for short-life signage and packaging. P&M Plastics supplies and CNC-cuts Corflute for sign makers, real estate agents, event companies and bulk packaging fabricators.
Sizes and formats we stock
Corflute is stocked in 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm in standard 2400 x 1200mm and 1800 x 1200mm sheets. The 3mm and 5mm thicknesses are the workhorse grades for signage; thicker grades are used for packaging boxes, dividers and reusable transport containers.
Colours and grades
White is the standard for printed signage. Black, blue, red, yellow, green and grey are stocked for direct-coloured displays. UV-stabilised grades are available for outdoor signage and last for several months to a year of outdoor exposure depending on conditions. For longer outdoor life, step up to Foam PVC.
Corflute compared to Foam PVC
Corflute is roughly 30 to 50 percent cheaper than Foam PVC for the same sheet area and is far lighter, which is why it is the default for short-life signage and event work. Foam PVC is stiffer, holds detail better in CNC cutting and lasts 5 to 10 times longer outdoors, so it is the right pick for any signage that needs to look professional for more than a few months. For real estate signs, election signs and event signage, Corflute remains the winning combination of cost and convenience.
Why P&M Plastics for Corflute work
We supply Corflute in pallet quantities to sign makers across the Gold Coast and Brisbane and CNC-route smaller volume jobs to client artwork. The flutes run in one direction, which matters for any sign or panel that needs to flex one way and stay rigid the other; we will spec flute direction at quote time so the finished sign behaves correctly.

How We Fabricate Corflute
We fabricate Corflute using CNC routing for any shape, knife cutting for straight-edge cuts, V-grooving for box and dividers construction, and direct screen or digital printing for signage finish. The sheet folds cleanly when scored across the flutes; folding along the flutes is harder. For assembly we use staples, rivets, plastic clips or solvent cementing with PP-rated cement.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does Corflute last outdoors? +
Standard Corflute holds up for several months in outdoor signage use without UV protection. UV-stabilised grades extend this to around 12 months. For signage that needs to last longer than a year outdoors, step up to Foam PVC or acrylic.
Can Corflute be printed on directly? +
Yes. Corflute accepts solvent, UV, eco-solvent and screen printing without primer or surface preparation. This is the standard process for real estate signage and election signage, where the sign is printed flat and either mounted to a frame or staked directly into the ground.
Which way do the flutes run? +
Corflute flutes run lengthwise in standard 2400 x 1200mm sheets (parallel to the 2400mm edge). The sheet is stiff along the flutes and bendable across them, which matters for sign mounting. If you need flutes running a different direction, ask at quote time; we can supply cross-fluted sheet on request.
Can I screw or staple into Corflute? +
Yes. Corflute takes staples, rivets and plastic clips directly. For screwing we recommend a backing washer to spread the load across multiple flutes; without one, screws can pull through the thin face skin. For higher-load mounting, step up to Foam PVC.
Is Corflute recyclable? +
Yes. Corflute is 100 percent polypropylene (resin code 5) and is recyclable through standard plastics recycling streams. The flutes and skins are a single material, so no separation is required. This is one of the reasons it is preferred for events and short-life signage.
Can Corflute be cut to a logo or letter shape? +
Yes. Our CNC routers cut Corflute to any 2D shape from a vector file. For the cleanest edges we use a sharp single-flute cutter at high feed rate. Smaller volume jobs are sometimes hand-cut with a sharp knife along the flute, which is fast and economical.
What thickness Corflute do I need? +
Most printed signage uses 3mm or 5mm. Real estate and election signage uses 5mm as standard. Packaging boxes and bulk dividers go 6mm to 10mm depending on load. Outdoor signs that need to survive wind use 5mm or thicker.
