Acrylic Mirror Sheet
Lightweight, shatterproof mirror in silver, gold, and coloured finishes.
85-88%
Reflectivity
Half glass
Weight saving
3-4mm
Standard thickness
Acrylic mirror sheet is a cast acrylic sheet with a mirrored coating on one face, used wherever you need the look of a glass mirror but lighter weight, shatter resistance, easier cutting and easier installation. P&M Plastics fabricates acrylic mirror for retail display, gym walls, dance studios, marine cabins, vehicle interiors, signage and decorative applications across Queensland.
Sizes and formats we stock
Acrylic mirror sheet is stocked in 3mm and 4mm thickness in standard 2440 x 1220mm and 3050 x 2030mm sizes. Larger thicknesses (5mm, 6mm) are available on request for thicker dimensional signage. The mirrored face is supplied with a protective masking that stays on through fabrication.
Colours and finishes
Silver mirror is the workhorse, with around 85 percent reflectivity. Gold mirror is stocked for premium retail and signage work. Coloured mirrors (rose, smoked, bronze) are available for architectural and decorative applications. Anti-fog and water-resistant grades are available for bathroom and humid-environment use.
Acrylic mirror compared to glass mirror
Acrylic mirror weighs roughly half as much as glass mirror at the same thickness, will not shatter (it cracks but does not produce sharp shards), cuts and drills cleanly without specialist tools, and can be CNC-routed to logos and letters that would be impossible in glass. The trade-off is that the reflective coating is more delicate (will scratch under abrasive cleaning) and the mirror finish is slightly less optically perfect than a back-silvered glass mirror at viewing distance over 2m.
Why P&M Plastics for acrylic mirror
We laser cut, CNC route and saw acrylic mirror to client artwork files for retail display, gym and dance studio installations, vehicle interior trim, marine cabin mirrors and decorative signage. Our shop carries the right tooling to cut without chipping the mirror coating. For wall installations we supply pre-drilled mounting holes or pre-applied adhesive backing on request.

How We Fabricate Acrylic Mirrors
We fabricate acrylic mirror using CO2 laser cutting and CNC routing, leaving the protective masking on through the cut. Edges can be sealed with clear PU or polished. For wall installation we pre-drill mounting holes or apply pressure-sensitive adhesive (3M VHB tape) to the back. The mirror coating must not be sanded, polished or chemically attacked; it sits on the back face and is protected by the acrylic substrate during cutting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will acrylic mirror shatter like glass? +
No. Acrylic mirror cracks under sharp impact but does not produce the sharp shards that glass does, which is why it is the safer choice for gym walls, dance studios, kids' rooms, marine cabins and any installation where someone could fall against the mirror. The mirror coating may flake at a crack but the acrylic itself holds together.
Can acrylic mirror be used in a bathroom? +
Standard acrylic mirror is fine for splash exposure but not for prolonged steam and high humidity, which can lift the mirror coating from the back face over years. For bathroom installations specify an anti-fog or water-resistant grade with a sealed back, and seal all cut edges with clear PU.
Can you CNC-cut acrylic mirror to a logo shape? +
Yes. CNC routing cuts mirror to any 2D shape from a vector file. For the cleanest finish we cut from the front (acrylic) side, leaving the back coating intact. Common shapes include logos, letters, stars, hearts and decorative wall art.
How do I clean acrylic mirror? +
Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth and warm water with mild detergent. Avoid solvent cleaners (acetone, methylated spirits, ammonia-based glass cleaner) which can craze the acrylic, and avoid abrasive cleaners which can damage the mirror coating. For salon and gym walls a regular microfibre wipe keeps the mirror looking sharp.
Can acrylic mirror be glued to a wall? +
Yes. The most common installation is structural double-sided foam tape (3M VHB tape is the trade standard), which holds firmly for years on most clean wall surfaces. For mechanical fix we use countersunk acrylic screws or chrome-cap fixings; the mirror is drilled with a slightly oversized hole to allow for thermal movement.
Does the mirror coating fade over time? +
No, the silver or aluminium coating is chemically stable and does not fade in normal indoor service. The mirror can lose reflectivity over many years if exposed to high humidity (which lifts the coating) or abrasive cleaning (which scratches it). For typical indoor applications, expected life is 10+ years.
Can acrylic mirror be cut on site with hand tools? +
Yes. Acrylic mirror cuts cleanly with a fine-tooth saw, jigsaw or score-and-snap with a sharp acrylic-rated cutter. For best results, leave the protective masking on, cut from the mirror side to avoid chip-out, and finish the cut edge with fine sandpaper. For complex shapes, bring it to us for CNC cutting.
