P&M Plastics: What We Do and Who We Work With

P&M Plastics is a Gold Coast plastic fabrication company supplying engineers, builders, signwriters, and industry with cut-to-size sheet, custom parts, and full fabrication.

P&M Plastics is a Gold Coast fabrication shop — not just a sheet supplier

If you've landed here trying to work out whether P&M Plastics can help with your job, the short answer is probably yes. We're a full-service plastic fabrication business based on the Gold Coast. That means we stock materials, cut them to size, and fabricate finished parts and assemblies — all under one roof. We work with engineers, builders, signwriters, marine operators, food processors, and industrial maintenance teams. Here's a plain-English breakdown of what we actually do.

Materials we stock and cut

Our material range covers the plastics you'll reach for most often in commercial and industrial work. On the engineering side, that includes HDPE , polycarbonate , nylon , acetal, UHMWPE, polypropylene, PTFE, and PVC in sheet, rod, and tube form. On the display and signage side, we carry acrylic (Perspex), foam PVC, HIPS, PETG, aluminium composite, corflute, and acrylic mirrors. We also machine MDF and plywood for joinery, signage, and furniture work.

Most of these materials are available cut to your exact dimensions . You send us the sizes, we cut them on our CNC or panel saw, and you get sheet that's ready to use — no waste, no offcuts to manage. For standard shapes and profiles, we can also supply rods and tubes cut to length.

Fabrication services: what we can build for you

Cutting sheet is only part of what we do. Our fabrication capability is where most of our trade customers get real value. Here's what's available in-house:

CNC routing and laser cutting. We run CNC routers for profiling, pocketing, and engraving, and laser cutters for intricate shapes and polished acrylic edges. Both services handle DXF and other standard CAD formats. If you need tight tolerances on complex profiles, this is the right path.

Plastic welding. We weld HDPE, polypropylene, and PVC for tanks, bunds, ducting, and structural assemblies. Butt welds, fillet welds, extrusion welding — the right technique for the application.

Acrylic bending and forming. Strip heaters and oven forming for guards, covers, display curves, windscreens, and architectural features.

Vacuum forming. For trays, enclosures, covers, and formed parts where you need a 3D shape from flat sheet.

Laser engraving and etching. Industrial signage, control panel labels, branding on acrylic and aluminium composite, and decorative etching.

All of these can be combined into a single job. A typical order might be: laser-cut acrylic faces, CNC-routed HDPE backing panels, welded polypropylene frame, delivered as a ready-to-install assembly. That's what custom plastic fabrication looks like in practice.

Industries and applications we regularly supply

We don't specialise in one sector — the material range and fabrication capability mean we're useful across a wide spread of industries. Some of the most common work that comes through:

Marine. Custom water tanks, hatch covers, windscreens, and structural components for boat builders and refit yards. HDPE and polycarbonate are the workhorses here. See our marine fabrication service for more detail.

Industrial and engineering. Machine guards, safety barriers, wear strips, conveyor components, bunds, and chemical containment. Materials like UHMWPE, nylon, acetal, and PTFE are common here — chosen for wear resistance, low friction, or chemical compatibility.

Signage and display. Signwriters and shopfitters use us for cut acrylic, foam PVC, aluminium composite, and laser-cut lettering. 3D fabricated acrylic letters, display cases, and engraved industrial labels are all standard work.

Food and commercial. HACCP-compliant cutting boards, sneeze guards, food-contact HDPE components, and commercial kitchen fittings.

Construction and fit-out. Builders and shopfitters use our cut-to-size service for wall cladding, splashbacks, skylight diffusers, and protective glazing. We also supply and machine MDF and plywood for joinery and cabinetry work.

Where we're based and who we supply

P&M Plastics operates from the Gold Coast. Our primary trade customers are local — builders, engineers, fabricators, and signwriters across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and northern New South Wales. That said, we regularly supply customers further afield for specialised fabricated parts that aren't easy to source locally. If you're interstate and need something specific, it's worth a conversation.

We're a working fabrication shop, not a warehouse. That means lead times depend on what's in stock and what's on the machine — but it also means you can talk to someone who actually understands the material and the process, not just a catalogue number. For straightforward cut-to-size orders, turnaround is typically fast. For custom fabricated assemblies, we'll give you a realistic timeline upfront.

How to get a quote or place an order

For cut-to-size orders, the most useful thing you can send us is a list of dimensions, the material and thickness, and the quantity. For fabricated parts, a DXF or PDF drawing gets you the most accurate quote. If you're not sure what material suits your application, describe the job — load, environment, chemical exposure, temperature range — and we'll make a recommendation.
