U.H.M.W.P.E. is Ultra High Molecular Weight Poly Ethylene.

UHMWPE is a very rigid material for use in general plant engineering where the unique properties, excellent impact strength, wear and abrasion resistance are required.

  • Excellent impact resistance
  • High mechanical strength
  • Resistant to many solvents
  • Very good electrical insulator
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Very high damping properties
  • Continuous use temp. of -269 to 80 Deg. Cent.
  • Minimum water absorption (0.01%)
  • Extremely low co-efficient of friction
  • F.D.A. approved for food and drug industries

Chemical Resistance

  • UHMWPE is resistant to Acids, Salts & salt solutions, Alcohols, oils, fats, waxes & many solvents.
  • All PE material is affected by strong oxidizing agents such as nitric acid, chromic acid or halogens.
  • Aromatics and Halogenated hydrocarbons cause swelling.

U.V. Resistance

  • Sheet & Rod products of UHMWPE are supplied in two colours.
  • White which is non-UV.
  • Black which is UV.


  • Flow promoting liners to resist sliding abrasion and to assist release, conveyor components subject to high wear and requiring low friction.
  • Componentry in direct contact with food stuffs.
  • Parts subject to high impact stresses.
